SAMBERTINO KWPN 93.9849 - Samber/Wellington Keur/Onyx 1993 16.2hh (168cm) Dark Bay Tobiano Stallion (Homozygous Black).
Prior to arriving in the UK in '99 Sambertino spent 3 seasons at the Gebr v Manen stud in Holland where he sired over 100 KWPN registered foals.
He was also a Pavo Cup semi finalist in Holland as a 4 and 5 year old.
Sambertino passed his 100 day test at Neustadt-Dosse, where he was placed 8th overall(dressage)out of 43 stallions on test.
He competed with Gemma Sas to Z level dressage in Holland,before continuing his ridden career in the UK with an amateur rider. Sambertino is currently the only coloured dressage stallion standing in the UK who has passed a 100 day performance test. He has proven his stud and dressage abilities in Holland and the UK and is now continuing his career in the Hanoverian region of Germany.
Sambertino is competed and trained by Eckhard Wahlers, at Gestut WM, Reessum Germany.

Sambertino's Sire & Other Relatives
Sambertino comes from the KWPN Worona I-stam, merrielijn 89, fokfamilie 44 which is known as a producer of both International Jumping and Dressage horses.
Samber
Still the only 100 day performance tested coloured stallion in the KWPN studbook. He passed the performance test in 1979 where his temperament scored him the maximum of 10. He was described as a talented jumper and highly talented event and dressage horse. He went on to jump at Z level with a 15 year old rider and when he returned to dressage competed at Grand Prix. He is still alive and covering mares today.
VDL Wellington Keur (dam sire)
Wellington was the reserve champion at his performance test in 1983 and now has a breeding valuue for jumping of 126.
As well as competing at show jumping at international level he has been awared the Keur status for the quality of his progeny who have competed at international level in both dressage and show jumping.
Notable progeny include Bollvorm's Ceylon and Disconto in dressage and in jumping SP Deka, Lady Diana, VDL Glenridge, VDL Emilion and Ishan DC.
KWPN sons include VDL Emilion Keur,Farrington Keur, Glendale and Performance test champion Glennridge.

Sire of Wellington, Nimmerdor was a World Cup Showjumper and invited to the 1984 Olympics.He was awarded Preferent Elite status by KWPN for the quality of his progeny and perfomance. He has sired over 50 approved sons and 60 international show jumpers, including Dutch Olympic Grand Prix Showjumper Ahorn, Aram, Daimler, N-Aldato, Heartbreaker,Zadock, Nandor, Fortuna, Coronel, VDL Everest, Broere Goldenridge, Agrovorm's Maywood, San Patrigano, Avenir, Canadian Colours and Ulster, who is the sire of Robert Smith's grey Grand Prix jumper Kalusha.
Grandchildren include De Sjiem, Jumping Olympic Gold Medalist in 2000 and the stallion Voltaire II. Nimmerdor has a showjumping breeding value of 162 with a reliability of 97%. He is still 3rd place in the KWPN top showjumping sires. Nimmerdor was Holstein bred and his ancestry can be traced back to Achill, founder of the Holstein breed.

Lucky Boy was the sire of 3 Olympic showjumping horses in 1984. Willi Melliger’s Van Gogh,The Freak with Hugo Simon and later Dirk Hafemeister, and Anne Kursinski’s Medrano.
In 1987 the winning American team in the Nations Cup at Spruce Meadows had three Lucky Boy offspring: VIP and Debbie Dolan, Victor and Joan Scharffenberger, and Anne Kursinski and Medrano.
Lucky Boy was also the sire of World Cup Winner Calypso, ridden by Melanie Smith.

He was described as a talented jumper and highly talented event and dressage horse. He went on to jump at Z level with a 15 year old rider and when he returned to dressage competed at Grand Prix. He is still alive and covering mares today. 
Wellington was the reserve champion at his performance test in 1983 and now has a breeding valuue for jumping of 126.
Sire of Wellington, Nimmerdor was a World Cup Showjumper and invited to the 1984 Olympics.He was awarded Preferent Elite status by KWPN for the quality of his progeny and perfomance.
